BTCCSquare news:

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued an Amended Order of Designation to Polymarket, allowing the crypto-based prediction market to operate as a fully regulated exchange. This marks a significant shift from 2022, when the CFTC barred Polymarket for operating an unregistered derivatives platform.

The approval enables intermediated access through futures commission merchants (FCMs) and traditional brokerages, linking Polymarket to established financial infrastructure. The platform will now be regulated under the same federal framework as other Designated Contract Markets.

Galaxy Digital's involvement signals growing institutional interest in event markets. The decision opens a new pathway for prediction markets in the U.S., with Polymarket serving as a test case for regulated crypto-native financial products.
